Member-At-Large: Annette Childree

BOD_2011_Annette_Childree.jpgBOD_2011_Annette_Childree_diving.jpgAs the newest member of the board, I just wanted to introduce myself.  Most of you know me from the meetings and some of our events.  My name is Annette Childree and I am married to well everybody knows Sam.  I was born in the San Fernando Valley; I’ve been calling the A.V. my home since 1993.  I am the proud mommy of three and grammy of one.  I work for the Palmdale School District as a Special Education Assistant.  This is not my first board position.  I was a board member and treasure for the Palmdale High School Swim Team Boosters for two years and held multiple local board positions for the Greater Los Angeles Girl Scout Council here in the AV for the past 18 years.  I have only been diving since July of 2009, so yes, I am a newbie.  I am certified up to the advance open water level and I have a few specialties.  My youngest daughter, Krystal, is also a diver and member of AVDD.  Her and my husband, are both certified rescue divers.  I would say the part of diving for me is the kelp.  I love just floating in it and relaxing.  Thanks Mike!!! Oh ya, the seals are a blast also.  Thanks to great instructors and dive buddies, divin has become one of my favorite hobbies.  Just wish I had more time.  Look forward to the next year of diving and AVDD events.
